Parents are always welcome at ACS. Parents being involved at their child's home-away- from-home improves communication between home and school.

Our staff has recently been trained on a new assessment system called Creative Curriculum Assessment. The teaching staff participated in a 151/2 hour training program. This new assessment allows our center to apply for grant monies from the state under its new UPK (universal Pre-Kindergarten) program.

ddsACS offers preschool, prekindergarten, and childcare programs for children 2.9 through 5 years of age

Preschool and preK are offered from 8:45 to 11:15 daily, with drop off between 8:30 and 8:45, 2-days, 3-days, or 5-days a week.

Lunch Bunch is offered at the conclusion of the morning program, from 11:15 to 12:30, on either a regular or a selective basis.  (Parents provide lunches.)

Childcare is offered from 7:30 to 5:30, 2-days, 3-days, or 5-days a week.  Part time extended hours for any child, in the morning or afternoon, may be arranged by talking with the Director or the Assistant Director.  We try to meet the needs of our families with varied program offerings and schedules.

ACS’ preK children are well prepared for the transition to the “big school” for kindergarten.  Their natural or acquired self-confidence prepares them for the challenges ahead.  ACS focuses on enhancing social skills, listening skills, staying on task, self-help skills, pre-reading and pre-math skills, and both fine and gross motor development.  The preK curriculum centers on the suggested Massachusetts frameworks.

A Music Enrichment Program and a Science Enrichment Program are offered to all of the children as part of our curriculum.  Nancy Railsback and Steve Lechner come to ACS monthly and add an enriching dimension to our program.

ktThe children also enjoy varied and fun field trips and in house enrichment.  Some examples are: apple picking, Discovery Museum, Davis Farmland, Pumpernickel Puppets, Wendy Frank with her guitar & puppets, Mother Goose, Animal Adventures, Michele’s Menagerie, Amy Conley Music Lady, a magician, and storyteller Papa Joe, among others.

We encourage you to call ACS to schedule a visit and find out more about us!
